XRay Screens

A complete inventory of both new and used screens to suit all needs. Be sure to check out our specials, and contact us about our used screens.

Green Intensifying Screens

Green intensifying screens contain a high efficiency green emitting X-Ray phosphor, gadolinium oxysulfide. These screens are intended for use with orthochromatic or green sensitive X-Ray film. Green screens are available in four speeds: Fast, Regular, Medium, and Fine.

  • GREEN MEDIUM: This green emitting rare earth screen has a relative system speed of 200 when used with a medium speed green sensitive film. This screen/film combination is primarily recommended for specialized studies that require improved resolution compared to a 400 speed system (Regular).
  • GREEN FAST: This green emitting rare earth screen has an approximate relative system speed of 600 when used with a medium speed green sensitive film. When used with a high speed green film system speeds of 1000 to 1200 can be achieved.
  • GREEN REGULAR: This green emitting rare earth screen has a relative system speed of 400 when used with a medium speed green sensitive film and 800 speed with high speed green film. This screen is highly recommended for all general radiographic procedures, providing an optimum balance of dose reduction and image quality.
  • GREEN FINE: This green emitting rare earth screen has a relative system speed of 100 when used with a medium speed green sensitive film. This screen is recommended for general extremity studies. This screen provides an excellent balance of image quality and sensitivity, which cannot be duplicated by the use of non-rare earth, detail screens. The GREEN FINE screen should only be used with film that is orthochromatic or green sensitive.

Blue Intensifying Screens

Blue Intensifying screens contain high quality calcium tungstate phosphors. Compared to rare earth phosphors this phosphor exhibits a more linear response over a broad kVp range. Blue Screens are available in three speeds (for general diagnostic radiography): High Plus, Medium and Detail.

  • BLUE DETAIL: This blue emitting calcium tungstate screen has a relative system speed of 50 when used with a medium speed (full speed) blue sensitive film.
  • BLUE HIGH PLUS: This blue emitting calcium tungstate screen has a relative system speed of 200 when used with a medium speed (full speed) blue sensitive film. This screen is recommended for general radiography providing an efficient balance of speed and image quality.
  • BLUE MEDIUM: This blue emitting calcium tungstate screen has a relative system speed of 100 when used with a medium speed (full speed) blue sensitive film. This screen is useful for detail studies providing a reduced X-Ray dosage compared to BLUE Detail

* These screens are compatible with full or medium speed blue sensitive film. Do not use these screens with green sensitive or half speed blue film.

Half Blue Intensifying Screens

HALF BLUE screens are available in three speeds: HALF Blue III, HALF Blue Fast Detail, HALF Blue Detail.

  • HALF BLUE: The active X-Ray phosphor component of FRH screens is comprised of lanthanum oxybromide. This X-Ray phosphor emits light in the blue and ultra violet portions of the light spectrum. The construction of these screens is specially designed to maximize useful life and minimize damage due to moisture and other common contaminants that may come in contact with the screen surface.
  • HALF BLUE-III: This blue emitting rare earth screen has a relative system speed of 800 when used with full or medium speed blue sensitive film. This combination is generally recommended for conditions where dosage reduction and "penetration" is of primary importance (e.g. lateral lumbar studies). When used with a half speed blue sensitive film the relative system speed is 400. This combination is recommended for general radiography.
  • HALF BLUE-FAST DETAIL: This blue emitting rare earth screen has a relative system speed of 400 when used with full or medium speed blue sensitive film. When used with a half speed blue film this screen has a relative system speed of 200. This versatile product can be used in both general radiography and in applications requiring high radiographic detail.
  • HALF BLUE-DETAIL: This blue emitting rare earth screen has a relative speed of 100 when used with full or medium speed blue sensitive film. When used with a half speed blue film the system speed is approximately 50. This product is mainly recommended for extremity studies.

* These screens are compatible with full or half speed blue film. Do not use these screens with green sensitive film.
